SLICK ROCK GOLF COURSE - 6839 yards, par 72

Slick Rock Club House

Opening in 1972, the "Original Course" at Horseshoe Bay Resort has played an important part in reviving the Texas State Open, and hosted Shootouts featuring PGA pros Jason Kokrak, Wes Short Jr., JJ Henry, and 2003 PGA Championship winner Shaun Micheel.

Slick Rock spans approximately 170 acres, providing more than 33,700 feet of golf frontage property. With multiple tees on every hole, more than 71 sand traps and 12 water hazards, Slick Rock embodies the Robert Trent Jones, Sr. philosophy of "hard par, easy bogey." The front nine is topographically routed through colorful outcroppings of Texas granite and a magnificent mixture of trees: native oak, persimmon, willow, chinese tallow and eldarica pine. The back nine is open and rolling with Crenshaw Bentgrass greens and 419 Bermuda tee boxes. Yardage markers are hollywood juniper clustered with purple sage. Extensive planting of bamboo and pampas grass adds color and texture to this unforgettable course. Slick Rock is home to Horseshoe Bay Resort's awe-inspiring "Million Dollar Hole" (No. 14) featuring a winding cart path that takes golfers on a ride through a waterfall that spans more than 35 yards and dumps more than 8,000 gallons of water into Slick Rock creek each minute. With four sets of tees on every hole (Championship, Regular, Ladies #1, and Ladies #2) this course plays differently each time. Topographically, the front nine is routed through the granite outcroppings and native trees. The back nine is open and rolling. For Tee times call 830-598-2561.

RAM ROCK GOLF COURSE - 6946 yards, par 71

Ram Rock Golf Course

Ram Rock was constructed in 1981 and is infamously known as the "Challenger". Narrow fairways and rolling Crenshaw Bentgrass greens are surrounded by 62 deep bunkers, ten water hazards and natural dry creeks on six holes. With its dramatic elevation changes, Ram Rock offers enough length and difficulty to challenge scratch players in any group and features an especially demanding island green par 3 hole (No. 4). The fairways and tee boxes are 419 Bermuda with native landscaping throughout, including juniper phitizer and natural rock outcroppings. Author, journalist and golf enthusiast Turk Pipkin writes, "If you want to put your game to the ultimate test of Texas golf, the breathtaking, backbreaking, eye-pleasing Ram Rock has all you could want and a little more." Ram Rock received a 4½ star rating from Golf Digest and was named as one of the top 15 courses in the state by Golfweek in 2006. For Tee times call 830-598-6561.

APPLEROCK GOLF COURSE - 6999 yards, par 72

SUMMIT ROCK GOLF COURSE - JACK NICKLAUS
SIGNATURE GOLF COURSE
- 7200 yards, par 72

A Legendary Private Golf Course

Summit Rock Golf Course

Summit Rock, Horseshoe Bay Resort's exclusive, members-only course, is a Jack Nicklaus Signature designed 18-hole layout. The Par 72 course boasts some of the most stunning scenery in Texas and is considered by many to be the Golden Bear's best work. Summit Rock has earned many accolades including Golfweek's Top 100 Resort Courses in America (#61). Nicklaus said each hole of Summit Rock is a "Signature Hole" as he blended the course layout through the scenic topography and stands of Texas Live Oaks. Holes one and two play through a wide-open, level-playing area and afterward players are rewarded with a 30-mile Hill Country view from the elevated tee box at the famed 3rd hole. There are many elevated tee boxes with spectacular views through holes 4-12 before heading down the scenic ridgeline on hole 13. Most of the greens are large, raised and guarded with slope and undulations that will challenge any putter reads.

The 200-acre, par-72 course contains a lower, level playing area and an upper, more rugged terrain. Designed to highlight the natural landscape, the lower section, which includes holes 1, 2 and 13-18, is framed by beautiful old oak trees, while the upper section, which includes holes 3-12, has impressive views of nearby Lake LBJ and the Hill Country. The course contains vegetation, creeks, streams and a variation of terrain throughout to make it a unique experience for players.  For Tee Times call 830-598-1500
